My Portion Of Sky

So many things happen under my portion of sky...

I decided to show one of them, this timeshowing how to make a super easy piñata and when I find my files (my nephew mixed up all my cds) I will post real big piñatas, I made this as a reward for mynephew after getting a good grade on a math test, imagine his happiness when hesaw this in the car after school, with eyes wideopen he jumped over the piñata, grabbed it and shouted “it is heavy” knowing itwas filled with his favorite candies and sweets, he loved the hearts too.

You'll need:

corrugated cardboard, hot glue gun, hot glue gun sticks, gift ribbon, paint, brushes, liquid silicone glue, 3 cm wide styrofoam, crepe peper, glitter (optional)

Transfer the shape on the styrofoam and cut it (using a hot styrofoam cutter is better)

Measureand cut the corrugated cardboard into strips about 10 cm width and about 20 cmlonger than the shape you chose this to overlap it so it gives more strength tothe piñata. I chose hearts and after cutting them I softly sanded thesides to make them smooth and not so sharp

Cuta strip of the cardboard same width of the larger one and glue it to the Styrofoamcircle

Gluethe longer cardboard stripe all around the Styrofoam circle

Cuta piece of cardboard of about 5 cm long and about 3 cm wide placeit on the piñata side that has the reinforcement and poke two holes

Usinggift ribbon or pieces of wire go through the poked holes to make a loop (thepiñata will hang from this loop)

Placethe other Styrofoam circle and glue it on the other side of the piñata

Cut two pieces of cardboard 1 cm bigger that thehole on the bottom of the piñata and add gift ribbon stripes of about 1 meterlong, cover with the second cardboard and staple each one then curl them withone blade of a scissors, add as many stripesas kids you have, glue it to cover the hole of the piñata, don't add to much glue as kids will pull them

Paintthe Styrofoam, make some ruffles and glue them giving small pinches, you canuse liquid silicone glue (to avoid burning your hands with hot glue)

add some ruffles on the opposite side of the hearts

Add some more ornaments

Make a small hole on the top of the piñata to fill it with candies, small toys and confetti

Some are tiny some are big, I have no problem with sizes but with colors that's another thing, I do not know when a flower is purple or blue, pink or lilac so in spanish I name these colors like this: purple, light purple, pinkish light purple, purpleish or kind of purple.See? I'm pur-plexed 8/

Too many power cuts in this country lately, we were once the riches nation of Latin America (and beyond) but reality is very different now, that was exactly ten years ago, a bad adimistration and extreme levels of corruption have destroyed this once prosperous nation and turned it into tragicomedy full of impunity and clear violations to the constitution of this country.

I was not playing with candles we espend 3 days without electric power, so for me, those were sleepless nights of deep boredom so one night I began to take pictures of this weird candles, I don't know why the burnt this way or why they were not producing light, some pics are blurry, the others were just luck he he he

A Windy Evening

The weird cloud appeared again…yes last year it was on the south and this year on the north but it had lightning that made no noise just like the one last year. The evening was very windy and the other clouds are blurry because they changed so fast…but not that thing it took the cloud about an hour or so to change its shape. I would like to know more about clouds like this one, I live in a place with no mountains or hills; this part of the country is plane, flat.

February 15 referendum day, I went at 5:00 am to vote, I got my Little finger stained with ink (provide by the electoral power in Venezuela), that signals that you already voted and you are not allowed to vote again…but look what happened after I sank my stained finger in a chloride jar… what does it mean? Hummmm it smells like cheese here
I worked (ad honoren) as a witness on the part of the opposition and saw so many irregular things, like identity card printed on a simple paper like the one you print at home, foreign people who did not speak Spanish very well like a Guyanese lady I know (who was almost scared when she saw me there), people who never voted before and did not how to do it, people with more than one identity card (according to the news: more 7000 people found each owning between 5 and 9 identity cards ) and the ink, during the installation of the voting center I argued with a military man because he changed the ink that came with all the electoral material (in a sealed box) then he said he was following orders from the electoral power, the electoral power coordinator said they changed the ink because it was left from a previous process and the electoral power order was to use that ink due to an “economy thing”. But the goverment spent millions on paying some kind of people to go to the meetings.
By the way I could not enter none of my blogs to post yesterday until after the electoral power announced the results…what was that?????
The proof in my own hands, the ink only attached to my nail polish and could be easily removed with nail polish remover like cutex…

Hello Skywatchers I just wanted to share the magical moments the sky gave me, I know that the photographer is not a pro but just imagine this sky it was like three dimentions of clouds and in the evening the light reflecting from the cloud painted everythig, it was like moving through a curtain of color ... I do not know how to explain this ...

Well, my present for Christmas was a camera (even smaller than the first one), but I really love it, the old one is damaged, one of the reasons I was out of Sky watch, the other reason is depression, it weights like a ton, my country is in great danger so I feel really bad for all that is happening here

The girls, these are Canela (Cinnamon) and Lila, I found both in the street when they were puppies, they are happy but fat girls now, they need to exercise. Last year we had to divide the backyard with a fence because they liked to fight to each other and they were so heavy that it was difficult to manage the situation so we decided to separate them. Thanks God the backyard is huge and they have plenty of space to play and run.

She looks sad because she (and Lila) could not sleep last night due to Christmas fireworks, they hate the noise.

Today we did not have a fiery sky but a deep blue sky with White clouds; at lest they were White- White and not grey-black clouds like the ones we had almost all the week, more than eight days of heavy rain and … the flu… that thing does not want to leave.

I have a new puppy, a friend found her in garbage bag, yes, he and a friend heard a noise in a garbage bag while they were going to the university, they decided to see what was happening, to they surprise when they opened it, a puppy was in there, they did not know what to do with the little puppy until they had a brilliant idea…Faery… they took the puppy to my house I took her in my hands and it was love at the first sight, I gave her a bath and took her to the vet, she needs a lot more vaccines. Now I have four dogs and two big tortoises. The new puppy seems to be a Chihuahua I am not sure.

As the day was so nice, I went to the backyard near construction site and took about 169 pics.

After a sudden noise like a jet, these lines appeared and also those dark things, there were no birds in the sky at that moment, this is part of the previous pic.

We had a deep blue sky in the morning, but it changed a bit by 5:00 in the afternoon because some grey cloud showed up, about 6:00 the clouds turned into orange shades and even reddish-brown (I don't know if some colors I name exist in English). After that, we had rain, it is still raining and I love this sound of rain and thunder. I am writing on the laptop, enjoying a cup of hot cocoa, watching TV and resting confortably in my bed....with a terrible cold and a tissue box . Pathetic isn't it?

I took about 15 pictures of this cloud, on the south side of the backyard, on the west side I took some others, I hope to post them tomorrow. As far as I know this type of clouds are not tipycal from the open plain (sabana), and it was so weird because it produced a lot of lightnings in its central part, we did not listen thunders so I guess It was far, far away. As I am not a "cloud-o-logist" (does that word exist?) I can not say anything about it, only that is was really weird.

Today we had a very beautiful, shiny, blue day, but about 5:30 some fat ladies began to show and by night they were all over the sky shining in a dark pink, kind of red color and only a thin strip of black night , at 7:30 an orchestra of thunders and lightnings but not a drop of rain... I decided to go inside... just in case.
The last picture was taken without flash and is blurry because it took an eternity to make "click", I was getting purple because I wasn't breathing for not moving the camera...

The backyard is devided by this fence becaused the two dogs we have do not always agree on the topics they talk about so they decide to fight to stablish who of them is right. Last time they fought,sorry, talked it got really ugly, so we separated them, now they miss each other, even though they can talk through the fence, they are not so happy. But the passion fruit vine is really happy because it happily hang on the fence

I enjoy being in the backyard, I call it My Portion Of Sky
I am a very eccentric person…according to those who “know” me, some say it is because I am an indigo child (boy, they don’t realize I am an adult already). Others say I suffer from agoraphobia… (What is that?) And some others have other theories… eccentric, does it mean out of the center?
Now if you say that to be out of the center means to like to be quiet and alone for a while, to watch the sky and take pictures of all the changing faces of it…well, I declare myself guilty of being out of the center, and I confess I love to be just as I am, I need my time out and every evening I go out to the backyard and sit and enjoy the breeze and watching how the clouds take different colors and how the evening becomes night, I enjoy discovering the first star that shows, even though I know it will appear in the same place by this time of the year. I enjoy watching the storm approaching and the spongy, dark clouds gathering high above, the breeze cools, the thunder becomes louder and lightings begin to show. I enjoy feeling the first drops of rain falling on my face…
My camera is small and I am not a photographer, but I shot what I see , and this is the result
